GAMOZ PRIVACY POLICY
This Privacy Policy explains how Gamoz ("we", "us", or "our"), operating through the website https://gamoz.online and the Gamoz Android Mobile Application, collects, uses, handles, and protects your personal and sensitive data. We are committed to complete transparency, data minimization, and adherence to Google Play Store Developer Policies and international privacy regulations.
1. Introduction & Scope
Welcome to Gamoz. Gamoz is an advanced, high-performance all-in-one retro gaming emulator, multiplayer netplay engine, and cloud synchronisation platform developed for Android devices and accessed via our official website (https://gamoz.online).
This Privacy Policy governs your use of the Gamoz Android Application package and our related web services. It explains what information we collect when you run the application, sign in, save games, use 2-Player Netplay, or interact with our services, why that data is necessary, and how your privacy rights are protected.
2. Information We Collect
Depending on how you interact with Gamoz, we may collect and process both personal information that you voluntarily supply and technical information that is transmitted automatically by your device.
A. Google Sign-In & Authentication Data
When you sign in to Gamoz using Google Sign-In (powered by Firebase Authentication), we receive basic profile credentials authorized by Google:
- Unique User Identifier (Firebase UID): A pseudo-anonymous alphanumeric string used to associate cloud save states and Cloud Pass subscription entitlements with your profile.
- Email Address: Used for account identification, payment confirmation receipts, and customer support communications.
- Display Name & Profile Picture URL: Used strictly to display your user profile within the Gamoz app drawer and multiplayer lobby.
B. Cloud Save States & Game Metadata
If you subscribe to the Gamoz Cloud Pass, Gamoz uploads your in-game save files to our secure cloud servers:
- Save State Files (.state, .savestate, .srm): Binary snapshots representing your precise progress in emulated titles.
- Metadata: Associated game title, console type (NES, SNES, GBA, J2ME), save slot number, timestamp, and file size.
C. Device & Diagnostics Information
To guarantee high-performance 60 FPS emulation and troubleshoot crashes across diverse Android hardware architectures, we may collect:
- Device Specifications: Device model, manufacturer, Android OS version, and CPU architecture (e.g., ARM64-v8a, armeabi-v7a).
- Crash & Error Logs: Anonymous stack traces generated if a native C++ emulation core (QuickNES, Snes9x, mGBA, FreeJ2ME) terminates unexpectedly.
D. Payment & Subscription Information
Payments for the Gamoz Cloud Pass subscription are processed securely via verified third-party payment gateways (such as Razorpay and/or Google Play Billing). Gamoz never collects, sees, or stores your raw credit card numbers, debit card details, CVVs, or bank account PINs on our servers. We receive only transaction confirmations containing the payment status, date, and external transaction ID.
3. Android Device Permissions & Justifications
In accordance with the Google Play Developer Policy on Permissions and APIs that Access Sensitive Information, the table below outlines all sensitive Android permissions declared by the Gamoz application and the exact technical justifications for their usage:
| Permission | Classification | Purpose & Technical Necessity |
|---|---|---|
|
MANAGE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE READ_MEDIA_IMAGES |
Storage Access | Core Emulator Functionality: An emulator cannot function without reading game files. These permissions allow Gamoz to locate, read, and execute user-provided ROM files (.nes, .sfc, .smc, .gba, .jar), extract archives, and write persistent battery saves and save states locally on the device. Gamoz does not read your personal photos, videos, or unrelated documents. |
|
INTERNET ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE |
Network Connectivity | Required to check network status, synchronize cloud save states for Gamoz Cloud Pass subscribers, load catalog box art, fetch software updates, and display advertisements via Google AdMob. |
|
ACCESS_WIFI_STATE CHANGE_WIFI_MULTICAST_STATE |
Local Wi-Fi Netplay | Zero-Configuration Local Multiplayer: Enables UDP broadcast and multicast packet reception so that Player 1 and Player 2 can automatically discover each other's gaming rooms on the same local Wi-Fi router without manual IP typing. |
|
BLUETOOTH BLUETOOTH_ADMIN BLUETOOTH_CONNECT BLUETOOTH_SCAN BLUETOOTH_ADVERTISE |
Bluetooth Hardware | Offline 2-Player Co-op / VS: Allows two Android devices to establish an ad-hoc RFCOMM Bluetooth connection for 2-Player gaming in environments where Wi-Fi is unavailable. |
|
ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION ACCESS_COARSE_LOCATION NEARBY_WIFI_DEVICES |
Hardware Scanning (Legacy OS) | On Android versions prior to Android 12, Google's Android OS requires location permission to perform Wi-Fi P2P and Bluetooth device discovery. Gamoz does not record, track, transmit, or store your physical GPS location. |
4. How We Use Your Information
We process collected data exclusively for the following legitimate business and technical purposes:
- Cloud Save Synchronization: Uploading, storing, and delivering your manual snapshots and silent exit auto-saves across your Android devices under your authenticated account.
- Multiplayer Netplay Operation: Facilitating peer-to-peer room discovery, socket negotiation, and latency-optimized game frame synchronization between connected players.
- Subscription Entitlement Management: Checking the validity of your Gamoz Cloud Pass subscription to grant unlimited cloud saves and activate complete ad removal across all games.
- Customer Support & Inquiries: Responding to troubleshooting inquiries, bug reports, and account deletion requests submitted to support@gamoz.online.
- Serving Contextual & Standard Ads: Delivering non-intrusive banner and interstitial ads through Google AdMob to sustain free-tier app development (completely suppressed for active Cloud Pass subscribers).
- Service Security & Fraud Prevention: Protecting our servers against unauthorized API flooding, abuse, or unauthorized reverse engineering.
5. Third-Party Service Providers
To provide our services, Gamoz partners with industry-leading third-party technology providers. These services process data in accordance with their own respective privacy policies:
| Provider | Purpose | Data Handled | Privacy Policy |
|---|---|---|---|
| Google Play Services | Android app runtime, Google Play Billing (Gamoz Cloud Pass), and platform integrity | Device identifiers, IP address, system diagnostic logs, purchase tokens | Google Privacy Policy |
| Google AdMob | Mobile advertising & monetization (suppressed for subscribers) | Google Advertising ID (AAID), app interaction data, device identifiers | Google Ads Privacy |
| Firebase Authentication | User sign-in & identity verification | Google Account UID, email, user name, profile avatar | Firebase Privacy |
| Razorpay | Alternative in-app subscription billing (Gamoz Cloud Pass) | Transaction IDs, payment status, customer email/phone (tokenized) | Razorpay Privacy |
6. Advertising & Google AdMob Disclosures
Gamoz incorporates the Google Mobile Ads SDK (Google AdMob) to display banner and interstitial advertisements to users who do not have an active ad-free pass.
AdMob may access your device's Google Advertising ID (AAID) and use cookies or anonymous identifiers to serve contextual or personalized advertisements based on Google's advertising algorithms.
1. Open your Android Settings app.
2. Navigate to Google → Ads (or Privacy → Ads).
3. Tap "Reset advertising ID" or select "Delete advertising ID".
4. Toggle on "Opt out of Ads Personalization".
7. Cookies & Web Tracking
When you visit our website at https://gamoz.online, we utilize standard browser storage mechanisms (such as localStorage and temporary session cookies) solely to:
- Remember interface preferences (e.g. mobile drawer status).
- Maintain secure session headers for API downloads.
- Track anonymous, aggregated website traffic and APK download counters.
We do not employ cross-site tracking beacons, invasive third-party ad pixels, or data brokerage trackers on gamoz.online.
8. Data Retention & Account / Data Deletion
In compliance with the Google Play Data Deletion Policy, we provide clear, permanent mechanisms for users to request the deletion of their accounts and associated cloud data.
Data Retention Periods
We retain your profile credentials and cloud save states as long as your account remains active. If your Cloud Pass subscription expires, your uploaded save states are safely retained for a grace period of 90 days before scheduled cleanup, allowing you to resume your gaming progress upon resubscription.
How to Delete Your Data
Open Gamoz → Game Menu → Cloud Saves. Tap the delete icon next to any save state to immediately purge that file from our servers.
Go to Android Settings → Apps → Gamoz → Storage → Clear Storage / Clear Cache to immediately wipe all local ROM indexes and configs.
Send an email to support@gamoz.online with subject line "Data Deletion Request". We permanently purge all cloud records within 7 business days.
9. Children's Privacy (COPPA & GDPR-K)
Protecting the privacy of young children is critically important. The Gamoz service and mobile application are not directed to children under the age of 13 (or under 16 for residents of the European Economic Area).
Gamoz does not knowingly collect, solicit, or maintain personal information from individuals under the age of 13. In accordance with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and GDPR Article 8, if we discover that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information without verified parental consent, we will promptly delete that information from our servers.
If you are a parent or guardian and believe that your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately at support@gamoz.online so that we can take swift corrective action.
10. Data Security Protocols
We implement multi-layered administrative, technical, and physical security measures to safeguard your personal data and cloud saves against unauthorized access, loss, alteration, or misuse:
- TLS 1.3 / HTTPS Encryption: All data transmitted between the Gamoz Android app, the website, and backend API servers is strictly encrypted using transport layer security.
- Token-Based Authorization: Cloud save downloads and uploads require valid Firebase Authentication JWT tokens matched against authorized user accounts.
- Isolated Storage: Save states are stored with unique, randomized hashes on dedicated, firewalled storage instances to prevent directory traversal or cross-user access.
While no digital storage method or internet transmission is 100% impenetrable, we continually evaluate and upgrade our infrastructure to maintain the highest standards of security.
11. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy periodically to reflect new features in the Gamoz ecosystem (such as new console cores or expanded netplay options), regulatory changes, or adjustments to Google Play Developer Policies.
When changes are made, we will revise the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. For significant modifications affecting how your personal data is handled, we will post a prominent notification inside the Gamoz app announcement banner or on our homepage. We encourage you to review this page periodically to stay informed.
